On Thursday, March 28th, our Bailey Middle School 7th Grade Band joined our Carrigan Intermediate School 5th and 6th Grade Bands to celebrate Music in Our Schools Month with our 3rd Annual MIOSM Band Pep Rally!
Bailey’s 7th Grade Band performed their Spring Concert program for our Carrigan Musicians, introducing them to challenging new repertoire and some of the exciting new instruments that they can explore at the middle school level; oboe, bass clarinet, tenor and baritone saxophone, and tuba!
The 3 bands (close to 300 musicians) then performed together for our Pep Rally portion of the day, including our kids’ favorite guest performer, Carrigan Intermediate School Principal Mr. Weber, on the drum set!
To close out the day, Mr. Weber shared his own musical experiences with our young musicians, emphasizing how music has impacted his life, bringing him joy and helping him to form lifelong friendships. He also told them how proud he was of them, and how proud they should be of themselves for all their hard work in learning and honing their craft as musicians, a message our students will never forget!
